Board of Directors gains fresh expertise, a dose of diversity and a youthful perspective

Bonhôte announces the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors, each bringing a diverse array of skillsets and experience that will further energise the Bank’s strategy and reinforce its dedication to innovation, sustainability and social responsibility. These appointments position Bonhôte for a promising future by fostering stability and laying a foundation for continued business development.

The Board of Directors of Bonhôte is gaining significant new members, building on last year’s addition of Yves de Coulon, a prominent Geneva-based property lawyer. This year, two of the three appointees are distinguished women with extensive experience in banking while the third is a young biologist barely in his thirties.

Anne Marion-Bouchacourt, a chartered accountant by training, was previously Head of Human Resources for the entire Société Générale (SG) banking group before becoming Chief Country Officer for China. Until 1 January this year, she was SG Country Head for Switzerland, based in Zurich. She currently sits on the boards of the National Bank of Greece, Greece’s largest bank, and Ipsos, chairing each one’s Remuneration Committee.

Mme Valérie Patthey, who has strong personal ties to Neuchâtel, was Head of Communications at Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV) before moving on to become Marketing and Communications Manager and Spokesperson for Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse) SA. She was subsequently appointed Regional and International Marketing Manager at Julius Baer before taking on the same role at Pictet Wealth Management.

M. Jean-Louis Berthoud, 31, whose father is Jean Berthoud, is a biologist by training and a researcher in applied ecology, both in Switzerland and internationally. His appointment symbolises the marriage of tradition and innovation, bringing with it a unique scientific perspective that will strengthen the Bank’s commitment to sustainable development and sustainable finance. Jean-Louis is a graduate of Milton Keynes University, a research fellow at the University of Hohenheim and is currently completing a course in sustainable finance at the Chartered Banker Institute in Edinburgh. Jean-Louis speaks English, French and German fluently and boasts extensive multicultural knowledge. He will also have the opportunity to play a significant role in defining Bonhôte’s ESG strategy.

I’m delighted to welcome each of these new directors,” says Jean Berthoud, chairman of the Board of Directors. “Each one carries a specific vision, specific expertise and the technical knowledge that will be vital to our growth as a boutique wealth manager. I’m particularly pleased that my son Jean-Louis has been appointed to the Board as this will ensure continuity and help us steer a steady course for the future.”

With the addition of these new members to our Board of Directors, we’re taking our development strategy seriously as we strive every day to build solid relationships with our clients, partnering with them on the basis of trust and peace of mind,” says Yves de Montmollin, Chief Executive Officer. “More so than ever, we want to offer personalised banking services tailored to the individual needs of each and every client.

Neuchâtel-based Bonhôte, which can look back on more than 200 years of history, sees this development as a further positive step. In addition to Neuchâtel, Bonhôte has branches in Bern, Biel/Bienne, Geneva, Lausanne, Solothurn and Zurich.
